Selling solar power when it is worth the most
AiEnergy plans the work of the home battery every day on its own: when to charge it, when to send energy to the grid and how much to keep for the night. Nobody has to set anything day to day. The app is there to see what is going on and how much the system has earned.
The demo shows a real reference installation in Poland. There, exported power is paid under net-billing at the hourly market price, so all prices and amounts are in Polish złoty (PLN).
Why it matters
Under Polish net-billing, power sent to the grid earns the market price of that hour (RCE). That price swings a lot during the day. At a sunny noon everyone has surplus solar power and the price drops almost to zero. In the morning and evening, when there is little sun and people are at home, it is many times higher.
A home battery shifts solar power from cheap hours to expensive ones. The app makes sure this happens at the best moments.
Charges when power is cheap
At midday, when exported power earns next to nothing, solar energy goes into the battery instead of the grid.
Sells when power is expensive
In the morning and evening, in the hours with the highest prices, it sends energy from the battery to the grid.
Keeps a reserve for the home
It never discharges the battery below a set level, so there is always something left for the house.
What a real day looks like
Below is Monday, 28 September 2026, on the demo installation. The height of each bar is the price paid for exported power in that hour. The colour shows what the app planned.
At 12:00, 1 kWh sent to the grid would have earned less than 0.01 PLN. At 19:00 it earns 1.43 PLN. The same energy, over a hundred times more money. That is exactly how a battery run by the app earns.
A day in the life of the app
Everything happens automatically on the server. Your phone does not need to be on.
- around 14:00
Tomorrow's prices
The Polish grid operator PSE publishes power prices for every hour of the next day.
- 15:00
Tomorrow's plan
The app fetches these prices and the weather forecast for the panels and builds a plan for the whole day: in which hours to sell and how much, and when to charge the battery. Tomorrow's plan is visible from 15:00.
- hourly, 5:00–19:00
Corrections during the day
The weather does not always follow the forecast. The app compares how much the panels really produce and adjusts the plan for the remaining hours when needed.
- every few seconds
Controlling the inverter
The app reads the state of the battery, panels and grid and gives the inverter commands that follow the plan.
What you will find in the app
The menu is on the left. On a phone you open it with the menu button in the top left corner.
What the colours in the schedule mean
| Label | What happens then |
|---|---|
| SELL | The battery sends energy to the grid at the power shown in the next column. A green bar "SELLING" appears at the top of the app. |
| IDLE | Normal operation. The panels power the house and the surplus charges the battery. In the evening and at night the house runs on the battery. Most hours in the plan have this colour, and that is how it should be. |
| PV EXPORT | The battery is already full, so the solar surplus goes straight to the grid. |
| CHARGE HOLD | Less common: the battery is deliberately charged or held at a fixed level ahead of expensive hours. |
What you can change yourself
The Tariff & settings tab has a few parameters. If in doubt, leave them as they are. The installer's values are matched to the installation. In the demo, changes are disabled.
| Setting | What it means in plain words |
|---|---|
| Min. reserve SOC [%] | The app will not discharge the battery below this level. This is your reserve. A higher value keeps more power in stock but leaves less energy to sell. safe to change |
| Max. selling power [kW] | The highest power at which the battery may send energy to the grid. It cannot exceed the capacity of the grid connection and the inverter. change only after talking to your installer |
| RCE price threshold [PLN/kWh] | Below this price the app does not sell energy from the battery at all, because it is better to keep it for the house. A higher threshold means selling less often, but at better prices. safe to change |
| Max. charging power [kW] | How fast the battery may charge. change only after talking to your installer |
| Re-discharge SOC [%] | A technical inverter setting. It defines the charge level at which the battery returns to work after a full discharge. change only after talking to your installer |
The schedule screen also has two buttons:
| Run the AI again | Builds the plan again from current data. It takes about fifteen seconds. Useful if you changed a setting and want to see the new plan straight away. |
| Stop AI | Switches automatic planning off. Do not use it without a reason, because without plans the battery does not earn on price differences. The same button switches the AI back on. |
A yellow bar at the top of the app is a warning, e.g. that the battery is not delivering energy despite a planned sale, or that one string of panels is not producing. In that case, contact your installer. It is not dangerous for the house, but it means the installation earns less than it could.
Glossary
- SOC
- Battery state of charge in percent. 100% means a full battery.
- RCE
- Rynkowa Cena Energii, the Polish hourly market price used to settle exported power under net-billing. Published by the grid operator PSE.
- PV
- Photovoltaics, i.e. the solar panels.
- Export / import
- Export is power sent to the grid, import is power taken from the grid.
- kW vs kWh
- kW is power at a given moment (like speed). kWh is an amount of energy (like distance driven).
- Self-sufficiency
- The share of power used in the house that came from your own panels and battery rather than the grid.
- Inverter
- The device that converts power from the panels and battery into power for the house and the grid. The app gives it commands.
- Net-billing
- The Polish settlement scheme for prosumers since 2022: exported power earns credit on the prosumer account at the price of that hour.
Home control
We plan to extend the app to the rest of the home: driveway gate, garage door, intercom and camera view. All in the same app, next to energy. We will let you know when these features are available. Today the app deals with energy only.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to do anything in the app every day?
No. The plan is built automatically every day at 15:00 and corrected during the day. You open the app only when you want to check something.
Does it work when my phone is off?
Yes. Everything runs on the server, which is connected to the inverter. The phone or computer is only for viewing.
Could the house run out of power?
The app will not discharge the battery below the reserve (the "Min. reserve SOC" setting). Once the battery reaches the reserve, the house draws power from the grid as before, with no interruption.
Why doesn't the battery sell at noon when the sun is shining?
Because power is cheapest at noon, often worth just a few groszy per kWh. It pays to charge the battery then and sell in the evening, when the same energy is worth many times more.
Where do I get a login and password?
The installer sets up the account when the system is commissioned. If you just want to see what the app looks like, open the demo installation. Nothing can be changed there, so feel free to click around.
The app on your home screen, no app store needed
AiEnergy is not on Google Play or the App Store, and it does not need to be. It is a web app (a so-called PWA). You add it with a single command in the browser, and from then on it works like a regular app.
Icon on the screen
Open AiEnergy with one tap, without typing the address.
Full screen
No address bar or browser buttons, just like a regular app.
Always up to date
Nothing to update. Changes arrive on their own.
Choose your device
Menu item names depend on the browser version and system language and may differ slightly.
Chrome
The browser with the colourful circle. It is on almost every Android phone.
Open Chrome and type ai.i4home.pl.
Tap the three dots in the top right corner.

When something does not work
I cannot see "Install" or "Add to Home screen"
Check that the page opened in a real browser. Links opened from Messenger, WhatsApp or email often show up in a window inside that app, which has no install option. Copy the address ai.i4home.pl and paste it into Chrome, Safari or Edge.
The app opens with an address bar, like a normal website
On the iPhone: delete the icon, add it again and leave "Open as Web App" switched on. On Android: in the Chrome menu choose "Install app" rather than "Add shortcut".
I forgot my password
Contact your installer. Accounts are created and unlocked by IzoSolar.
How do I remove the app?
Like any other: on the phone, press and hold the icon and choose "Remove" or "Uninstall". On a computer, open the app, click ⋮ or ••• in its window and choose "Uninstall". Your data and settings stay on the server.
